I have polycythemia vera. I have chronic severe pain in my tailbone. Is this common? Any suggestions for pain relief?

Hi weezy81, I have had PRV for 8 years and have never suffered with this, so I am sorry but I cannot help, however, I think you should get this checked out with your GP. As has been mentioned on this forum before, we tend to think everything is connected to our condition when it could be something totally different.

Good luck and I hope you find some relief soon.

If you find out what it is please let me know as I have got sciatica at the moment but I do not think that all the pain is that some times that is in my tail bone as well. I did bruise my bone a few years ago (well over 20) but this pain is more severe and it is really getting me down. I have ET/MF

Hope you get some relief soon

Ironic.. I bruised my tail bone 35 years ago, but never had pain after that until I had my bone marrow biopsy and was diagnosed with PV, Thrombocytosis & myeloproliferative neoplasm. I have sciatica pain as well, but this pain is different and more severe. Consuming at times. I hope we can both get relief as well as others. Will post if and when anything works

weezy81, I have pv also and had been in agony throughout my tail bone pelvic region, turned out to be sacriolitis, arthritis in the sacriolic joint, worth asking for an MRI, also using hemp oil has reduced my pain, hope this helps

Watch a documentary called run from the cure on you tube, i'm living proof, i only got a mild tincture, yet even taking only half my hydroxy and aspirin i had best fbc results in 18 months on Friday gone, white blood cells risen, i have virtually no pain now either, gone from 20 odd tramadol and paracetamol a day to 0

Hi, me too!

I have a dull ache in my bottom ( I know, I know, pain in the a..e!) most odd. Not a dreadful pain as such but a nasty ache. Goes if I lie in front of the fire or sit on a hot water bottle.....probably not PV related but I did wonder.

I watched run from the cure and thought it sounded too good to be true, but nevertheless it's food for thought. Nice to come across someone who's tried hemp oil. Could you tell me where you managed to find it?
